🧾Teeth whitening requires light therapy, which uses low-temperature, cold light (primarily blue light) to catalyze the whitening agent (hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide) to produce a redox reaction, breaking down the pigment on the teeth and achieving a rapid whitening effect. Light accelerates the activity of the whitening agent, allowing it to penetrate deeply into the tooth tissue and remove pigment deposits inside and outside the teeth. However, light itself does not have a whitening effect.
